Wilkes-Barre, PA – A criminal incident occurred on North River Street in Wilkes-Barre, according to a report from the City of Wilkes-Barre Police Department. The event occurred on Wednesday, October 2, at 1:07 a.m.

Following a report, police officers were dispatched to 575 North River Street. Upon arrival, they spoke with the victim, a 57-year-old woman from Clarks Summit, PA.

The victim stated that an unknown suspect damaged her vehicle. The driver's side window was broken and a rock was reportedly thrown through the window.

The police have noted that the investigation into this act of vandalism is ongoing. Further details will emerge as officers continue their inquiries into the incident.

  • Wilkes-Barre police arrest a local man on drug charges

    Wilkes-Barre, PA – The City of Wilkes-Barre Police Department announced it arrested a 38-year-old Wilkes-Barre resident Tuesday morning on an active warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

    The incident occurred on South Main Street when patrol officers observed Michael Moore standing in front of a business. The officers, knowing the department had an active warrant for Moore's arrest, approached him. During a search, they discovered suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia on his person.

    After Moore was arrested without incident at approximately 10:16 a.m., officers transported him to city headquarters. He was tried there and later charged with the charges.

  • Drug bust in Boston yields significant amount of narcotics

    BOSTON, MA – A man was arrested on drug charges following an operation Tuesday by the District B-2 (Roxbury) Drug Enforcement Unit in Boston. At approximately 1:19 p.m., officers took Jaylin Hawkins, 29, of Boston, into custody.

    The arrest came as officers were patrolling Roxbury Street and Washington Street to address community concerns about illegal drug activity. Officers observed an exchange between two individuals and suspected it was a drug transaction. When they stopped one of the suspects, they discovered a plastic bag containing crack cocaine and informed him of an impending court summons for Class B possession.

    Efforts to locate the second suspect were initially unsuccessful. However, around 5:50 p.m., officers found the person and arrested him near 2360 Washington Street. During a search, a plastic bag containing crack cocaine and cash valued at $607 were found.

    During the subsequent booking, officers conducted a search and found two small plastic bags and one large plastic bag containing several smaller bags, all containing crack cocaine. The drugs were found to weigh approximately 38 grams in total.

    Hawkins faces multiple charges.
