PRESS ROOM | Comments after RB Leipzig-Juventus

Coach Thiago Motta, Dusan Vlahovic, Nicolo Fagioli and Francisco Conceicao spoke to the press after Juventus' 3-2 away win at RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League.

COMMENTS BY THIAGO MOTTA

“We played well, even in the first half, even though we were behind at the break. We are very happy with the win and the way it came about. We played well. We played with ten men for a long time in the second half, but we didn't lower our level and that made the difference. We tried to go forward, be proactive, play good football in both attack and defense and also try to find our wide players in the forward positions. In the end we deserved the result, we had the courage to play our game even in a difficult situation after being reduced to 10 men. The key word was courage. Courage from the boys who were determined to push forward and cause problems for the opposition. Even when a man was down, that was the feeling. We fought forward and did well until the end.”

DUSAN VLAHOVIC'S THOUGHTS

“I'm very happy for the team, we showed that we can become a team, we fought together as the coach asked of us, we deserved to win even though we had to fight against being outnumbered, it was one great performance; With these wins and these games we have to get used to this level. We must continue with even more conviction. In the meantime, I congratulate everyone, my teammates and the coach for how he prepared us for the game.”

THE REACTION OF NICOLO FAGIOLI

“In the second half the coach told us that we had to believe after a good first half; We were good, we showed a lot of heart. Maybe it wasn't a perfect match, but definitely a great one: maybe the best for me since I've been here, and now it all starts, I'm giving everything to keep getting better.”

FRANCISCO CONCEICAO'S REFLECTION ON THE GAME

“We showed great team spirit in an eventful game and did our best to take home all three points. A win that means a lot in the Champions League, now we have to keep it up in the league. The coach told me to do what I could by giving me freedom and asking me to help out defensively too.”
