Canceled Halo Battle Royale details are said to have leaked online

New details about the leaked battle royale mode have emerged.

There's a lot of hype around this halo IP. Although some players weren't thrilled with the recent releases, the hope is that the next game will deliver another exciting release. However, while we wait for details about where 343 Industries is taking the gaming franchise next, a new leak has surfaced that highlights the canceled Battle Royale game mode Halo Infinite.

Thanks to Insider GamingWe learn that a YouTube channel posted a video that highlights some new details. Rebs Gaming posted a video naming a source familiar with the project Project Tatanka would have imagined. For those who don't know: Project Tatanka was the name used during development for the battle royale experience.

It is noted that this game mode would have been tied to the campaign story, with players landing on the map in ODST drop pods. There would have been a few fragments for players to fight in, each with biomes and cannons to launch players into other fragments of the map.

When players were not actively fighting each other, objectives could be completed to unlock items and shields. It was also stated that once players were defeated, they would become an AI bubble that could be revived. Additionally, various vehicles would be placed on the map for players to fight over.

However, after some time, 343 Industries decided to change the game mode to something else and changed the name Project Tatanka To Project Ekhert. This project was also eventually abandoned sometime last year in 2023 so that 343 Industries could focus on the next one halo Rate.

Maybe the next game will revisit this battle royale idea. But we'll just have to wait and see what comes next halo Installment offers. We also know some plans for the big one halo 25th anniversary are already in the works. In the meantime, check out Rebs Gaming's video embedded below.
