Amaarae says she has experienced a lot of hate from Ghanaians since returning to the country

In a recent interview with American channel ABC News, Amaarae shared that many critics have opposed her since she returned to Ghana to pursue her music career and that this has motivated her.

She said: “I don't think I've seen anyone experience as much hatred in their home country as I did. This is unfortunate.”

Amaarae, who is currently on tour with American singer and actress Sabrina Carpenter, claimed she is being unnecessarily hated by Ghanaians because she is a brave and expressive woman.

She said: “I think it also had a lot to do with me being a woman and then a woman who is so bold and expressive and I think it kind of shocked people and scared them.”
