Columbus Crew welcomes Lionel Messi from Miami to Lower.com Field

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Soccer legend Lionel Messi is expected to play when Inter Miami CF takes on Columbus Crew on Wednesday night.

The game is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. at Lower.com Field. The cheapest verified resale tickets on Ticketmaster are currently around $170.

Messi has not been able to play the two times Miami has played against Columbus since joining the club.

Miami defeated the Crew 2-1 during their regular season play in June, but lost in the second round of the League Cup in August.

There was hope that Messi could take part in the MLS All-Star Game earlier this year, but he missed out due to injury and did not appear for Columbus.

Miami, which leads the Eastern Conference, can clinch the Supporters' Shield with a win on Wednesday. The Crew is second in the conference. With four games to play, they are eight points behind.
