Driver cited in crash in downtown Lincoln that left one injured

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – One man was injured in a crash in downtown Lincoln that left one person injured Tuesday afternoon.

Lincoln police responded to the crash near 9th and O streets just before 3:35 p.m

The accident report states that a 33-year-old Lincoln man was driving an SUV eastbound on O Street and approaching the intersection with 9th Street when he crossed the center line and struck a westbound car.

During the collision, the car was pushed back into a pickup truck behind it, police wrote.

The SUV and car came to rest on the sidewalks on both the north and south sides of O Street.

The accident blocked traffic on O Street between 9th and 10th streets for about an hour.

According to LPD, one person was transported with non-life-threatening injuries. LPD reported no damage to the nearby hotel or sidewalks.

The 33-year-old driver was cited for negligent driving in the multi-vehicle collision.
