Lynnwood police are working to identify a man accused of groping a young woman at a bus stop

The 18-year-old woman told police that just days before the alleged attack on her, the man approached her and told her she was cute.

LYNNWOOD, Wash. – Police are trying to identify a man accused of groping a young woman on a bus.

According to the Lynnwood Police Department, an 18-year-old woman reported that a man approached her during a bus ride on September 23 and told her she was cute. Then, two days later, on Sept. 25, the woman said the same man approached her again, but this time at a bus stop near 68th Avenue West and 200th Street Southwest, and grabbed her buttocks.

The woman then reported the attack to a staff member at the Rainier Place residence hall on the Edmonds College campus. The employee said something similar had happened to her six years earlier, when she was 17.

She said a man moved seats to sit next to her and stare at her while driving between Mukilteo and Lynnwood. She did not report the incident to police at the time, but took photos and videos of the man. When she showed the picture of the woman who reported the recent assault, she said it was the same man who attacked her.

The man is described as being around 1.80 meters tall, had a long beard and was said to be pushing a red bicycle when he approached the woman last week. The photo above was taken about six years ago and the man is now said to have lighter hair.

Police have not officially confirmed that the same man was involved in both incidents.

Anyone with information about this man is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at [email protected].
