Woman is accused of hitting the victim's vehicle with her vehicle

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – Police arrested a woman after they say she crashed her vehicle into a victim's vehicle, causing it to slide into traffic.

On Wednesday, Oct. 2, Craighead County District Judge David Boling found probable cause to charge Lameshia Marrybee Gatison, 43, of Jonesboro, with second-degree assault, reckless conduct creating a risk of bodily harm, and felony criminal trespass first degree mischief/property of another valued at more than $1,000 but $5,000 or less.

On September 9th at approximately 8:30 p.m., police were called to an accident at a local gas station.

According to the affidavit, officers discovered Gatison was using her vehicle to prevent the victim from leaving the gas station.

“The victim managed to get around the obstacle and attempted to leave the parking lot,” police said. “MS. Gatison pursued the victim, drove recklessly, and intentionally crashed her own vehicle into the victim's vehicle, specifically striking the rear driver's side corner.”

The accident resulted in the victim's vehicle being temporarily disabled and entering traffic.

During a Mirandized interview, Gatison admitted to hitting the vehicle. The affidavit states that her actions resulted in $3,970.02 in damages.

Gatison was released Oct. 2 on $7,500 bail. Her arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, November 14th.
