Drug raid in Lyon County results in 10 arrests and over 1,500 marijuana plants seized

On Tuesday, October 2, the Lyon County Sheriff's Office simultaneously executed search warrants at two locations in Silver Springs and Stagecoach, resulting in the arrests of ten individuals and the seizure of a significant amount of marijuana and firearms.

The operation was the culmination of a month-long investigation into an illegal marijuana cultivation and processing operation. Lyon County Sheriff's Office investigators, along with assistance from multiple outside agencies, discovered sophisticated cultivation and processing facilities at both locations.

Law enforcement officers seized over 1,500 marijuana plants, over 1,000 pounds of processed marijuana and several firearms. In addition, investigators discovered that large sums of money, presumably proceeds from marijuana sales, had recently been transferred to Mexico by the operation.

The Lyon County Sheriff's Office was assisted in the operation by Carson City Sheriff's Office SWAT, Douglas County Sheriff's Office SWAT, Central Lyon County Fire Department, United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), U.S. Department of Homeland Security (HSI) and and Nevada State Police.
