Truck driver arrested after a missing 12-year-old was found in the cab of his semi-truck at a truck stop

CARROLL COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT/Gray News) – A truck driver was arrested in Mississippi after a missing child was found in the cab of his semi-truck at a truck stop.

According to the Carroll County Sheriff's Office, officers and FBI agents responded to an alert regarding a missing and/or endangered 12-year-old child on Tuesday.

Officers were told the girl was in the Vaiden area and was possibly at a rest stop in the area.

FBI agents and Carroll County officers began searching vehicles at the 35/55 rest stop in Vaiden and discovered the girl in the cab of a semi-truck.

The driver of the truck, 35-year-old Randy Donovan Taylor, was taken into custody and booked into the Carroll County Regional Correctional Facility.

Taylor faces multiple federal, state and local charges related to the child's kidnapping and victimization.

Authorities said additional charges are also expected from North Carolina and Louisiana in relation to the situation.

In Carroll County, he is charged with possession of child pornography and lustful touching.

Authorities did not provide any further immediate information.
