Three suspects will appear in court on Wednesday accused of hiding missing teenagers

Benton County prosecutors said three people helped hide a missing teenager in northwest Arkansas for nearly three weeks. The teenager has now been found and is safe. Although probable cause affidavits have not been released, new details about the charges emerged in court Wednesday. The suspects, 34-year-old Kristen Tucker, 24-year-old Riley Fix and 30-year-old Brynhildre Underwood were arrested Monday evening in connection with the disappearance of a 17-year-old girl. On Wednesday, the judge set Tucker's bond at $100,000 and Fix and Underwood's at $50,000 each. All three were charged with interference with custody, a Class C felony. Tucker faces additional charges of tampering with physical evidence (Class D felony), computer fraud (Class D felony), obstruction of government operations (Class C misdemeanor) and aiding and abetting constitute the delinquency of a minor (Class A misdemeanor).Underwood was also charged with computer fraud (Class D misdemeanor).Fix was also charged with obstructing government operations (Class C misdemeanor). When asked how the teenager went missing, replied Benton County Prosecutor Joshua Robinson said: “It appears to me that she met one of these individuals shortly before she disappeared. This person worked at a local business and the teenager went to pay for a service and struck up a conversation. They talked about her situation and family matters, and this person decided they needed to help her leave her home and her parents' custody.” Robinson said he could not elaborate on what “family matters” meant. In court, Robinson said the suspects helped hide the teenager from her family. On Tuesday, the Benton County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at Underwood and Fix's Fayetteville home. “It’s not unusual at all,” Robinson said. “Anytime we have a location where we believe there is evidence of a crime, we want to get a search warrant.” Asked whether the teen or her family knew the suspects, Robinson said they were “ “Complete strangers” to the family.” New acquaintances, without a committed relationship or anything like that. That's one of the reasons why this is strange and really very disturbing,” Robinson said. The three suspects are expected to return to court for arraignment at 8 a.m. Nov. 4. The judge confirmed that all three will receive public defenders and 40/29 News will reach out to the attorneys once they are identified. We were unable to reach the three suspects for comment as they remain in custody.
