Naga Chaitanya Supports 'Former Wife' Samantha Ruth Prabhu After Minister's Comment; says the divorce was “peaceful.”

After Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Naga Chaitanya has also reacted to the recent controversy surrounding her divorce. Telangana Minister Konda Surekha made a remark linking Bharat Rashtra Samiti chief KT Rama Rao to Naga Chaitanya and Samantha's breakup. Chaitanya supported his ex-wife in an Instagram post but didn't mention her by name at all. Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu divorced in 2021.

What Naga said

He wrote: “The decision to divorce is certainly one of the most painful and unfortunate life decisions one will have to make.” After much consideration, my former spouse and I have mutually decided to separate. It was a decision made in peace, because of our different life goals and in the interest of moving forward as two mature adults with respect and dignity. However, so far there have been various unfounded and completely ridiculous rumors on this topic. Out of deep respect for my former spouse and family, I remained silent throughout.

“Today, Minister Konda Surekha Garu’s claim is not only false, it is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. Women deserve to be supported and respected. “It is shameful to exploit and exploit celebrities’ personal life choices for media headlines,” he added.

How Samantha reacted

Previously, Samantha took to her Instagram Story to make a statement. She clarified that their divorce was “mutual and amicable” and that there was no political conspiracy involved. Samantha also urged people to stop speculating about her divorce.

“Being a woman, coming out and working, surviving in a glamorous industry where women are often treated as props, falling in and out of love, still standing up and fighting… It.” “That requires a lot of courage and strength,” the statement said.

“My divorce is a personal matter and I ask you not to speculate about it. Our decision to keep things private does not invite misrepresentation. To clarify, my divorce was mutual and amicable, with no political conspiracy involved. Could you? Please keep my name out of political controversy. I have always remained apolitical and would like to continue to do so,” Samantha added.

This came after Congress MP K. Surekha linked KTR to Samantha and Naga Chaitanya's breakup and alleged that KTR tapped the female actors' phones and blackmailed them.

Talking to the media, Surekha said, “It is KT Rama Rao who is to blame for (actress) Samantha's divorce… He was a minister back then and used to tap actresses' phones and then find their weaknesses to blackmail them. “…He used to get her addicted to drugs and then did this…Everyone knows that, Samantha, Naga Chaitanya, his family, everyone knows that something like this happened.”

Surekha's comments sparked massive controversy with several BRS leaders as well as superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni condemning the comments.

Nagarjuna said that Surekha should not use the lives of film stars to criticize her opponents and asked them to respect the privacy of others.

“I strongly condemn Minister Konda Surekha’s comments. Don't use the lives of movie stars who stay away from politics to criticize your opponents. Please respect other people's privacy. As a woman in a position of responsibility, your comments and accusations against our family are completely irrelevant and false. I request you to withdraw your comments immediately,” Nagarjuna said in a post on X.

Nagarjuna's son, Naga Chaitanya, was previously married to Samantha Ruth Prabhu. They announced their separation in a joint statement on social media in October 2021.

They urged fans and media for privacy and support during these difficult times. Samantha and Chaitanya claimed that there will always be a “special bond” between them. Chay is now engaged to actress Sobhita Dhulipala.

Meanwhile, BRS chief Harish Rao also responded to X and demanded an apology from the minister.

“I condemn the derogatory remarks made by Minister Konda Surekha Garu and demand an unconditional apology,” Rao said. BRS MLC and former minister Satyavathi Rathod condemned Minister Konda Surekha's comments to KTR.

She said, “We condemn Minister Konda Surekha’s comments on KTR. Unfortunately, she speaks in a way that touches and saddens the families of all actresses in the cinema industry. That is not right. We warn that they should let go of the habit of defaming others when their chart falls. As a minister, you should support women and stand by them instead of making such comments. (ANI)
