SHC went ahead with a plea on the MDCAT paper leak

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has filed a petition seeking to cancel the results of the recently conducted Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT). Widespread irregularities, including a paper leak, are alleged.
The Sindh government, Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and other relevant agencies were named as respondents in the suit filed by advocate Nawaz Dahri representing the petitioners.
The lawyer argued that the MDCAT exam, held on September 22, was in jeopardy because the pre-examination paper was leaked on social media, claiming that over 160 out of 200 questions were shared online, raising doubts the integrity of the audit.
Advocate Dahri has asked the court to cancel the MDCAT results, re-conduct the test and form a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe the leak.
Earlier, students protested in front of the DUHS campus demanding accountability for the alleged misconduct in the exam. They claimed that the leaked paper bore close resemblance to the actual test.
Social media was also flooded with demands from students for an investigation and retaking of the exam.
