While some parents take disciplinary measures to teach their children, a man recently took an “extreme step” to teach his daughter the value of education.

In a viral video shared on 'X', a father was seen turning his daughter's room into a prison cell after he found out that his daughter had been skipping math class with some friends.

The video clip shows the father removing his daughter's belongings from the room, including the bed, television, clothes, slippers, etc. He also forced his daughter to wear a T-shirt that said “I skipped math class.”

“My daughter interrupted her second period math class with two of her friends. So for her punishment I decided to turn her room into her own prison cell. The fact that she even tries to drive me crazy because God knows I'm trying but knows I have to get devilish. I can be a very cool dad, or I can be the very crazy dad in a crazy way. So I took everything from her, literally everything. But it's more about taking that one outfit with you for the next two days, including a T-shirt that says, “I skipped math class,” he explained in the video.

Meanwhile, several users took action against the father, describing this action as “a form of abuse.”

“This is abuse in every sense of the word and nothing will convince me otherwise,” one user commented.

“As a father, it’s a bit much. I'm talking about taking the bed and posting it on social media. These are the same people who scream, 'You can't tell me how to raise children,' but then show us how bad they are at it,” another comment said.

A third commented: “This is so disgusting and weird. The effort and energy he put into this could have been put into sitting her down and having a CONVERSATION with her about why jumping is wrong. That would have been more beneficial than that. He will be shocked if she stops having contact with him.”
