Off-duty NYCHA employee arrested for assault in Manhattan

MANHATTAN, NY – An off-duty New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) employee was arrested in Manhattan on Thursday, September 26, according to authorities. The suspect, Donald Fontana, 56, was taken into custody in the 1st District/Transit District 2 around 7:20 p.m.

Fontana was charged with third-degree assault. No further details about the incident were released.

The investigation is ongoing and officials have not provided any further information.

NEW YORK CITY — The NYPD is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in a forcible touching incident that occurred in a Brooklyn subway station last month.

According to police, the incident occurred on Monday, September 16, at around 11:35 p.m. at the President Street subway station. A 64-year-old woman reported that an unknown person approached her and grabbed her buttocks.

The suspect fled the scene on a southbound Line 3 train departing from the Nostrand Avenue station. His whereabouts are currently unknown.

According to police, no injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

BROOKLYN, N.Y — An off-duty NYPD officer was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Brooklyn on charges of petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, according to authorities.

The officer, identified as 22-year-old Obeed Ahmed, was taken into custody in the 63rd Precinct around 2:17 p.m.

Ahmed is charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree. Details of the alleged incident that led to the arrest were not released.

The NYPD has not commented on the arrest of the officer, who remains under investigation.
