1 was arrested for allegedly burglarizing Family Dollar

SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. – One person has been arrested after a Family Dollar in South Haven was allegedly broken into and damaged.

According to police, the incident was reported early Wednesday morning when a passerby noticed the store's glass door was broken.

Responding officers found the suspect inside the store, where there was “significant” damage to displays and shelves. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

According to police, stolen property was recovered at the scene.

While investigators are still assessing the situation, the damage to the building is estimated to be “significant.”

In a news release, South Haven police thanked the community for their vigilance and reporting the burglary.
