Kimura Minoru Arrested for Marijuana, YA-MAN Fight Off

The fight between the two Japanese thugs is over.

K-1 master turned RIZIN fighter Kimura Minoru has been arrested by Tokyo police for alleged possession of marijuana at a station in Nishitokyo.

The 31-year-old militant was reportedly carrying marijuana liquid and plant fragments when he was questioned by police at Hibari-gaoka Station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line. Laboratory tests confirmed the presence of marijuana.

Kimura was scheduled to face YA-MAN in a 72kg bout with 4oz gloves on October 5th as part of YA-MAN's own promotion, FIGHT CLUB.

“I can only laugh… Has a main fighter ever been arrested before a fight in the history of martial arts? No, right? It's a crime. He was arrested, so he can't go anywhere for about 20 days.” . I have spoken to ABEMA about doing a free broadcast so the other fighters on the card can still shine.”

After the news broke, YA-MAN announced that the fight had officially been canceled. The event will still take place, but will no longer be available as a pay-per-view. Organizers are now working to find a short-term replacement for YA-MAN and those who purchased the PPV will receive a refund.
