Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 developers threaten measures to prevent toxic behavior: “They don’t want to offend Henry Cavill”

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 developer Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Entertainment have warned toxic players, saying they really don't want to offend Henry Cavill.

As revealed last month, Warhammer 40,000 superfan Henry Cavill is really enjoying it Space Marine 2. In an Instagram post, the Superman and Witcher star praised Saber's developers for the action game set in Games Workshop's dark universe, but revealed that he was unable to complete the campaign alone on Angel difficulty of Death,” which is the most difficult of the four difficulty levels available.

As we can see in the photo above, Cavill was smart enough to cover his username with the word “No.” Yes, that means you could be playing with or against Henry Cavill in Space Marine 2's PvP without even realizing it.

In their warning to toxic Space Marine 2 players, Saber and Focus weighed in on this, saying you never know who you're offending in the game – it could even be Henry Cavill himself.

“Be true to the cause, be respectful,” the statement said. “It has been reported that some players engaged in hurtful behavior or comments during the game. We will not tolerate this and will take measures to prevent it.

“First and foremost, we ask that you treat your fellow Space Marines with respect, maturity and courtesy. You never know how old the other players are, how their day is going, how sensitive they may be… Overall, you never know who your brothers and sisters are… It could even be like this 😏… you Don “I don't want Henry Cavill insult, brother, no you don’t.”

Whether this warning has a deterrent effect or maybe encouraged toxic behavior from players who think they can play with or against Cavill remains to be seen.

Elsewhere, Focus revealed the highly anticipated new PvE Operations map coming to Space Marine 2 as part of Season 2. It is set on one of the existing planets, Kadaku, and once again shows the Space Marines fighting the Tyranids. The new operation comes in October. Here is the official blurb:

The Tyranid invasion of Kadaku is coming to an end. The planet's organic material is converted into biomass, and the Tyranid capillary towers rise high into the sky, where the Hive ships wait to taste their victory.

The Cadian forces have made a valiant attempt to strike back against the Tyranids. A team of Space Marines arrives on Kadaku with a simple mission: help the Cadians destroy the towers. The Tyranids may conquer the planet, but the Empire will make it as painful as possible for them.

And finally, Focus said a hotfix aimed at fixing crashes and improving stability will be available “very soon.” In the future, players can expect further quality of life improvements, additional customization features (such as new colors for the lenses), and for PC gamers, a free 4K texture pack. Work is also underway to resolve ongoing server issues.
