School bus and dump truck involved in accident on Highway 35

BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas – A school bus was involved in an accident with a dump truck in Brazoria County Thursday morning, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

This happened sometime after 7:30 a.m. on State Highway 36. The road is closed in both directions from FM 522 to County Road 354.

Texas Department of Public Safety state troopers are on scene. TxDOT crews are also on hand to assist. Life Flight was also called.

A student and the bus driver were taken to the hospital out of an abundance of caution, DPS said.
