Arrest in Dover Murder Case – WGMD

An arrest has been made in connection with a murder that occurred in Dover earlier this week. Police arrested a 21-year-old Smyrna man in connection with the death of 50-year-old Barry Best of Dover. As part of their investigation, investigators identified Alexander Singletary as the suspect responsible for the Sept. 30 shooting on South Governors Avenue. Acting on a search warrant, police arrested him yesterday at a residence on New Castle Avenue in Dover. Singletary was arrested without incident. Jaylan Koroma, 18, of Dover, was also taken into custody as part of this search warrant on charges unrelated to the murder. During a search of the house, investigators seized two handguns. Singletary is being held at SCI on $1,060,000 bail on the following charges: first degree murder, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person (3x). Koroma was released to SCI on $2,000 bail on the following charges: Failure to comply with bond.
