The new ending was uploaded to the Reddit feed “Until Dawn” by crawlplays. The footage, which is still live at the time of writing, shows two post-credit scenes, each giving an idea of where the story of these poor, unfortunate teenagers might go next.

The first scene features Josh, played by Rami Malek. In the original release of Until Dawn, Josh's character can either die or, in a post-credits scene, transform into one of the game's wild and cannibalistic creatures called the Wendigo.

However, the new ending changes Josh's fate, revealing that he survived his encounter with the Wendigo and although he is clearly unwell, he is still human. As the scene pans to Josh's crouching figure, a voiceover from Dr. Hill reports that the teenager has found some sort of redemption, suggesting he might eventually get out of the mines.

Meanwhile, the second post-credits scene shows Hayden Panettiere's Sam staying in LA several years after the events of the “Until Dawn” narrative. It is revealed that her bedside table is full of pill bottles, suggesting that she is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. She also keeps a book by her bed: Creature Myths of the Great Plains.

When Sam's alarm goes off at 6 a.m., she goes to cancel the alarm, but finds blood running down her arm. She can't stop the flow of blood coming from a wound on her forearm. Then an eerie voice calls her name and makes her jump. It appears that both Sam's wound and the voice could be a hallucination.

What could this all mean?
