One dead, several injured in multi-vehicle crash south of Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Tallahassee Police are responding to a fatal crash in south Tallahassee.

According to Tallahassee Police, a pedestrian-multi-vehicle accident occurred just after 8 a.m. at the intersection of South Monroe Street and East Palmer Ave.

TPD said a vehicle hit several others and one person before crashing into a utility pole. The driver of the car died from his injuries.

The pedestrian and occupants of other vehicles suffered serious injuries and were taken to a local hospital. The number of injured is currently unknown.

Currently, South Monroe Street is closed between Jenkins Street and Perkins Street, and East Palmer Avenue is closed between Adams Street and Meridian Street while police investigate the scene.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
