44-year-old killed in fiery crash on I-65 near Kennedy Bridge, identified

A man who died in a fiery crash on Interstate 65 over the weekend has been identified. Video in the player above from the day of the crash. According to officials, the crash occurred just before 5 p.m. Saturday near the Kennedy Bridge. According to police, the driver of a semi-truck lost control for an unknown reason and crashed into the concrete median. They were identified by a coroner as Ahmed Ibrahim, 44. According to LMPD, both the tractor and trailer caught fire in the accident and Ibrahim was unable to escape. His cause of death was smoke inhalation and thermal burns.
