Gachiakuta author Kei Urana praises fans for standing up to leaks

Manga leaks have long been a contentious topic in various fandoms Jujutsu Kaisen being one of the most notable victims.

Fans of the series, especially abroad, not only rejoiced at leaks but even celebrated those who spread them online.

This behavior became so widespread that animators and other YouTubers denounced the rampant sharing and discussion of leaked content on social media platforms.

However, the recent rise of fandoms speaking out against leaks, particularly at Kagurabachihas caught the attention of the manga community.

Gachiakuta Manga author Kei Urana acknowledged this growing movement to combat leaks and praised fans for their proactive approach.

I'm glad to see that someone is stepping up to put an end to the leaks!ノシ I want you to see our originals, not pirated copies, not leaks, but to pick them up and read them! Txk” she wrote on her Twitter account.

While Urana didn't specifically mention any particular fandom, her comments are the result of a coordinated effort by Kagurabachi Fans should stop leakers from spreading spoilers and unofficial translations of the manga on social media.

The incident involved a leaker who claimed they were continuing Kagurabachi licks once Jujutsu Kaisen completed. The worst part was that it sounded like they were doing the fandom a huge help/favor.

Kagurabachi Fans quickly mobilized, calling on the leaker to stop such activities and reporting the account to official publishers, including VIZ Media.

The backlash was so intense that the leaker eventually backed down.

Urana has seen that her own work is also protected from spoilers and leaks. Despite GachiakutaDue to its growing popularity, it does not face the same leak culture as other manga, such as: Jujutsu Kaisenhave to struggle with it.

Although there were early fan translation projects for GachiakutaThese gradually became less important when Kodansha started publishing the chapters simultaneously in English via the K-Manga app.

Leaks in the manga industry are often caused by two main factors: the lack of official translations and fans' desire to read the latest chapters before their official release.

In the case of Jujutsu Kaisenwhich was plagued by the latter, leaks were so widespread that even readers in Japan and series employees expressed frustration with spoilers flooding social media platforms.

With resistance to leaks growing across various fandoms, it is hoped that more communities will follow suit, encouraging official releases and preventing the sharing of unauthorized content.
