HYDERABAD: Congress supporters allegedly attacked journalist Chiluka Praveen in Hyderabad, leaving him seriously injured.

Praveen, who is known for questioning the government on public issues, was attacked by Congress supporters, leading to his hospitalization at Yashoda Hospital in Somajiguda.

Former minister and Suryapet MLA Jagadish Reddy visited the hospital to check Praveen's condition and inquired about his treatment from the doctors. He also called for the best possible medical care. The former MPs Dr. Gadari Kishore Kumar and Budida Bixamaiah Goud and BRS leaders Chintala Venkateshwar Reddy and Rakesh Reddy accompanied Jagadish Reddy during the visit.

The attack on Chiluka Praveen was strongly condemned by BRS working president K. Taraka Rama Rao. In a tweet, KTR questioned the state of governance and expressed outrage over the incident. “Is this the result of governance? Is it a form of democracy to attack those who raise their voice against the government?” KTR asked. He criticized increasing intolerance towards those who question the government, including journalists, public representatives, students and citizens.

KTR demanded that the Congress supporters involved in the attack be immediately arrested by the Revanth Reddy-led government. He stressed that Chiluka Praveen was a voice for the people and particularly highlighted the problems faced by marginalized Dalit and Bahujan communities and that such attacks on journalists were unacceptable.
