JSO: Arrests for Attempted Murder of Undercover Officers

According to the JSO, two arrests were made following an “attempted murder” involving JSO undercover officers.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville Sheriff TK Waters is expected to announce the arrest of two people accused of attempted murder of undercover officers.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office did not announce before the news conference which incident Waters would be talking about, but the agency has been searching for someone accused of shooting at undercover officers on the Eastside on Sept. 20.

Around 3:30 that afternoon, JSO said a man shot a handgun at detectives “four to five times” at Florida Avenue and E. 22nd Street. The incident occurred “without any interaction,” JSO said.

Investigators did not return fire and the suspect fled west on 22nd Street in a Toyota sedan, JSO said. One detective suffered a laceration to his arm.
