Terrifier 3: New film warns viewers to seek help if they feel “unwell”.

The new horror film horror 3 comes with a warning telling viewers they may feel “uncomfortable” during director Damien Leone's slasher.

The “Terrifier” films, which follow the exploits of serial killer Art the Clown, have earned a reputation among audiences for their extreme levels of violence and gore.

The previous film reportedly left people “swooning” in theaters, which Leone denied was a “marketing ploy” designed to promote the independent film.

Now the third part seems to be aiming for a similar effect on the audience as they watch Art go on a deadly rampage on Christmas Eve.

An image shared on the film's X/Twitter account shows a note on a cinema door telling people: “Attention! This film contains extreme violence and excessive gore. If you feel unwell, please contact a member of staff. There are staff trained in first aid on site.”

The image's caption reads: “Don't say we didn't warn you…”

Of course, most people would be horrified by the tone of a film that could leave you needing first aid, but horror fans seem to be excited about the idea.

One person said: “This makes me want to see it even more!”

Another wrote: “Maybe this is an unpopular opinion but I love this type of marketing, it's very 2000s.”

A third said: “Can't wait to see this.”

horror 3 is released in the UK by Signature Entertainment, which responded to the post saying the film's gala screening resulted in 11 walkouts and one person vomiting.

The Terrifier series has been one of the biggest independent horror hits of recent years, with its sequel grossing more than $15 million (£11 million) at the global box office in 2022, against a very modest budget of £250,000 US dollars (191,000 pounds).

Due to the popularity of the films, Leone claimed that an unnamed major studio had approached him with the intention of rebooting “Terrifier” for a mainstream horror audience, but based on a single demand.

In conversation with Total filmHe said: “They wanted to reboot it for a wider audience. I wasn't interested in that. They said, 'It has to be rated R, it can't be as gory as you made it.'”

The 42-year-old director added: “I knew they would never let me shoot the first ten minutes of what I wanted to do [in Terrifier 3]. So I thought, “Let’s just stay true to what this franchise is about.”
