Houghton murder suspect pleads not guilty.

HOUGHTON, Mich. (WZMQ) – A Houghton man charged with first-degree murder waived his arraignment and pleaded not guilty in Houghton County Circuit Court.

On Monday, September 30, 60-year-old Evan Dixon pleaded no contest to charges of first-degree premeditated murder and aggravated firearm injury. Dixon is accused of fatally shooting 53-year-old Theron Duncan at the Douglass House Saloon in Houghton last November.

Dixon's next court date is Nov. 1 for a planning conference in Houghton County Circuit Court.
