Wausau man pleads guilty to beating woman during domestic violence

WAUSAU — A 36-year-old Wausau man charged with attempted murder of a woman during a domestic disturbance pleaded guilty to reduced charges Thursday.

Donald E. Warren was charged with attempted first-degree premeditated murder as a domestic violence incident. On Thursday, Marathon County Assistant District Attorney Benjamin Vechinski filed a revised criminal complaint charging Warren with two counts of aggravated assault as an incident of domestic violence, two counts of strangulation and one count each of false imprisonment and negligently endangering safety was charged with felony battery and misdemeanor battery.

Warren pleaded guilty to the two counts of aggravated assault and Marathon County Circuit Judge Suzanne O'Neill dismissed the remaining charges but will consider them in sentencing.
