Student arrested after making threats at Wood Memorial

OAKLAND CITY, Ind. (WFIE) – Another Tri-State student is in trouble after authorities say he made a threat at school.

The Gibson County Sheriff confirms a student at Wood Memorial was arrested Thursday.

The school administration sent a letter to parents informing them of the incident.

They say law enforcement responded quickly and students and staff were not in an unsafe situation.

Wood Memorial High School administration responded to a threat from students this morning. Administration immediately removed the student and contacted local law enforcement. Due to the quick response of our administration and law enforcement, it was determined that our students and staff were not in an unsafe situation.

While we cannot provide specific details due to the ongoing investigation, we want parents to know that the student has been removed from school grounds. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Gibson County Sheriff's Department and our students and staff who immediately reported the threat this morning.
