Man arrested after stabbing in Waterloo

A 32-year-old man was taken to an out-of-region hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after a stabbing in Waterloo last night.

Waterloo Regional Police said they were called to the area of ​​Amos Avenue and Churchill Crescent around 11:30 p.m. for reports of a disturbance

When police arrived, they found the man with stab wounds and he was taken to hospital.

A 24-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault, aggravated assault and a weapons charge.

The defendant and the victim are known to each other and the police have no concerns about public safety.

The defendant was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
