Fatal motorcycle accident in Bozrah under investigation: CSP

According to state police, the man was negotiating a turn when he lost control of his motorcycle.

BOZRAH, Conn. — A man died in a crash Wednesday after losing control of his motorcycle in Bozrah, according to Connecticut State Police.

Based on preliminary information, state police said the crash occurred at 1:37 a.m. on Bishop Road at the intersection of Bear Hill Road.

Investigators learned that a man, later identified as Michael Austin, 42, of Yantic, was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle north along Bishop Road.

He allegedly lost control of the motorcycle while negotiating a right-hand bend in the road, entered the southbound road and collided with a rocky embankment.

According to state police, Austin ended up in the woods on the right shoulder of the southbound roadway after the collision separated him from his motorcycle.

According to state police, Austin was taken to Backus Hospital with life-threatening injuries where he was later pronounced dead.
