Salem police seize a handgun and arrest two people in connection with the July shooting

Two suspects in a July shooting that occurred in northeast Salem earlier this year were arrested Thursday.

According to Salem police, on July 9, 2024, police responded to a report of an injured man in the 2000 block of Lancaster Drive Northeast.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a man, later identified as Allen Micheal Harmon, 32, with multiple gunshot wounds and began administering medical aid until paramedics arrived.

Paramedics transported Harmon to Salem Health with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers learned at the scene that there was a verbal altercation between the victim and two men in the mall parking lot when one of the male suspects fired shots.

After the shooting, the two men left the scene.

Shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday, the two suspects were located at River Road Park, 3045 River Road Northeast, by a patrol officer investigating a report of suspicious activity.

Police arrested FD Tari (33) and Teno Epone (25) and also seized a pistol.

Tari, who has three outstanding arrest warrants from other unrelated cases, was arrested on the following charges:

  • Attempted second degree murder
  • First degree assault
  • Unlawful use of a weapon, a firearm

Epone was charged with two existing warrants in other cases, as well as carrying a concealed weapon and giving false information to a police officer.

Both suspects are currently in custody at the Marion County Jail.
