“All I know is that I was scared”

While some are calling a viral video the “clearest Bigfoot footage yet” and others are raising questions, the TikTok account that posted it is defending its authenticity, claiming, “All I know is that I was scared.”

The TikTok posted by @E_ManAlfaro has received over 2.5 million views in two days and shows a large, furry character among the trees, leaning against a trunk several meters away. The audio captures increasingly heavy breathing and as Bigfoot looks into the camera, the image blurs as the filmmaker appears to run away.

“The scariest moment of my life,” reads the caption. “I was sightseeing and enjoying the day when I saw something in the distance. I’m still shaking as I write this.”

Commentators are dubious. “It's nice to see real footage of a real Bigfoot,” reads one sarcastic reply. “I firmly believe this is real. Thank you for sharing this.”

“It can’t be him, the REAL Bigfoot is blurry, y’all haven’t seen the pictures,” one says. The creator replies: “That's why I had to photograph him myself when I saw him, but you see, I was very afraid to get that footage.”

The poster appears in many response threads, emphasizing the validity of his encounter and emphasizing the danger and fear. When someone tells him it's the best video he's ever seen, he replies, “I appreciate that.” But I'm not going out there without an army.” Another answer asks: “You caught Bigfoot slipping, didn't you?” followed by crying and laughing emojis. “Apparently so… all I know is that I was scared,” he says.

Some viewers are more willing to suspend their disbelief. “Honestly, at this level of Jumanji, unprecedented, biblical, crazy times. I would probably believe it. They finally told us aliens are real… 🤔,” one TikToker wrote.

The discourse was picked up by Bigfoot Head Shop, the vape shop in Oklahoma that actually filmed the original video. Internet sleuths made the connection and on X, where “Bigfoot” is a trending topic, a contextual note detailing its true origin was added to the video.

As of Thursday, the TikToker has not commented on the information presented on other social media platforms.
