Jennifer Aniston received endless text messages after The Morning Show oil photos went viral

At an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! On October 2, Aniston set the record straight when she dispelled tabloid stories and rumors about herself online, including providing further context to the viral photos of herself covered in oil that made headlines.

“In the context of the show, something happened that was portrayed by the tabloids as if it happened in real life,” host Jimmy Kimmel began, holding up Aniston's picture. “You got splattered with oil – well, I would say your character – got splattered with oil… It seemed like someone did that to you.”

The Friends The 55-year-old alum explained that she was later bombarded with messages from concerned relatives trying to check in.

“I got endless text messages [asking]'Are you all right? What happened to you? “That's terrible,” she recalled, before referring to tabloid reports: “But yeah, they just didn't mention that it was in the… [show].”

In July, Aniston shocked fans after photos emerged The Morning ShowThe Season 4 set shows her character Alex Levy being doused with oil by an angry protester.

But behind the scenes, Aniston was all smiles after filming the moment, according to a new image the actress shared on Instagram on Sunday, August 4.

Suddenly, Aniston was covered in black liquid as she sat in a director's chair. She lifted her leg to seemingly show off her large platform heels.

“I ❤️ NY,” Aniston said Friends alum wrote in the caption of her post, which also included a handful of other photos she recently took, including a picture of her with Whoopi Goldberg and Cole Escola backstage at the Broadway hit: Oh, Mary!

This wasn't the only headline she made during her appearance on the late night talk show.

Aniston was also presented with a magazine cover with the headline “The Truth About Jen and Barack.” Another line on the cover said his wife Michelle Obama was “betrayed because Aniston steals her husband's attention” and that Aniston and former President Barack Obama were “obsessed with each other.”

Laughing, she replied, “Of all the calls you get from your publicist where you're just like, 'Oh no, what's that supposed to be?' Or the email that says “Some cheesy tabloid is going to make up a story” and then that’s it The.”

“I wasn't mad about it,” the actress joked, before clarifying that the romantic connection between her and 63-year-old Barack was “absolutely untrue.”

“I met him once. “I know Michelle better than him,” she joked. Kimmel then jokingly asked, “Is there a truth about you and Michelle that we should know?” Aniston then said, smiling, “That's not true.”
