Seth Meyers tells Mariska Hargitay that he tried to play a corpse on SVU

Olivia Benson's impact: Law & Order: Special Victims Unit is about to begin its 26th season and any fan of the series knows that it has had its fair share of celebrity guest stars over the years. But as series star Mariska Hargitay revealed during this time Late Night with Seth Meyers In the Oct. 2 interview, famous fans of the series all have one role in mind: They play the victim (literally).

Hargitay, who also shared a hilarious story about not being allowed to touch her Olivia Benson costume at the Smithsonian (“I wore that…for 26 years!”) and showed off her talent for “drunken acting,” said one celebrity , who was looking for it. In fact, there was another corpse appearance recently.

“All famous people, do you know what they want? To be a corpse. It’s so weird,” Hargitay told Seth Meyers.

And as it turns out, Meyers was one of those famous people.

Seth Meyers was almost a guest star Law & Order: SVU

“I met them all during the 2007-2008 writers’ strike law and order Authors,” Meyers told the actress. “And I thought, 'I want to do a cameo, but I just want to be a corpse.' And they said, “Oh my God, we’d love to have you on the show.” I go, “Okay, but I’m a dead person.”

Then Meyers continued, “My agent said, 'There's a role for you.' And I looked at it and thought, 'I don't want snakes!'”

Hargitay shared that a “supermodel” also recently preferred to play a corpse – and turned down a role with real lyrics.

“This just happened to me with a supermodel. I won't call them by name. A major supermodel…one of the greats,” she teased. “I found out she loved my show. So I went to the writers and asked, 'Can she be on the show?' She said she wanted to be a corpse, but then I said, 'No, no, we have this great role for you.'”

“I’ll call her back. I said, 'Listen, we get it. We're going to get you on the show.' And she says, 'Oh no, I want to be a corpse,'” Hargitay continued. “This happens all the time. Why don’t these famous people want lines?!”

Meyers said he would have also played “someone who found a body” and would have immediately given his best audition. Hopefully Hargitay talks to creator Dick Wolf and can make this happen law and order–Late at night Crossover to reality.
