Vita Vea returned after missing a game with a knee injury and was not limited: she played 38 of 57 defensive snaps, or 68%. Vea had the first of the Bucs' six sacks, leading to a three-and-out on Philadelphia's second possession. Tampa Bay's run defense was strong for the most part, except for a 59-yard breakaway by Saquon Barkley on the first play of the second half. Otherwise, Barkley gained 25 yards on his other nine carries and mobile quarterback Jalen Hurts gained 20 yards on eight carries.

Defensive lineman Ben Stille only played two defensive snaps but made the most of them. For one thing, he managed to recover Hurts' fumble caused by Lavonte David in the third quarter. Yaya Diaby was the most active of the five players the team used in its edge rush rotation. He logged 36 snaps (63%) and recorded his first sack of the season and a forced fumble.

The Bucs began the game with the same KJ-Britt-SirVocea-Dennis rotation at one of the two off-ball linebacker spots, but Dennis was knocked out of the game with a shoulder injury after playing just five snaps. That left Britt to play 51 of a possible 57 snaps.

The Bucs' defense was in the nickel package for most of the game, meaning Tykee Smith was on the field for 45 of the 57 defensive snaps. He had a tackle and a quarterback hit.

KR: Bucky Irving *, Cameron Johnson *

(To the training group: P Trenton Gill)

The Buccaneers made two changes to this portion of their depth chart in week four. First, Zach Triner replaces Evan Deckers at the long snapper position after Deckers was placed on the reserve list due to a hamstring injury. Second, Trey Palmer replaces Jalen McMillan on the second kick return line.

Third-year punter Trenton Gill was called up from the practice squad for the Eagles' game and took over punting duties from Jake Camarda, who was inactive. Gill punted four times for 150 yards, with a gross average of 37.5 yards and a net net of 37.5 yards, placing one kick inside 20 yards. Gill also handled kickoffs, forcing six touchbacks on seven kicks.

Rookie wide receiver Kameron Johnson took over punt return duties after Palmer was ejected from the game. Johnson had a return for 11 yards.
