Julianna Peña accuses Raquel Pennington of not promoting the fight enough

SALT LAKE CITY — Julianna Pena feels like she's ramping up the promotion of her UFC women's bantamweight title fight this Saturday with Raquel Pennington, and she's made sure to let the world know about it.

Both Peña (11-5 MMA, 7-3 UFC) and Pennington (16-8 MMA, 13-5 UFC) got into a heated back-and-forth at Thursday's UFC 307 press conference, mostly shared by The Venezuelan Vixen “was initiated. Pennington, defending her title for the first time, was unhappy with the multiple shots thrown her way.

“You are a warrior and you have heart, but you know what? I'm a warrior, I have heart, and all this “pit bull” talk? “You’re just an idiot Chihuahua looking at someone’s face,” Pennington said.

Peña quickly took to the microphone and responded that she had no choice but to stir the pot and accused Pennington of not properly promoting her fight.

“Speaking of Chihuahua, because I told her that she represents the women’s division poorly, I feel like she has no choice but to speak,” Peña said. “This is the highest speech you've ever heard from Raquel Pennington in the history of Raquel Pennington. I need to bring that out in her to get people interested in the fight, otherwise no one here will be interested in this block of wood. She’s boring.”

You can watch their entire exchange in the video above.
