Join Ligaya Malones, Deanna Sandoval, and local chefs and restaurateurs for a conversation about the evolution of San Diego's dynamic culinary scene and the people and places serving up local flavors and putting our region on the foodie map.

Warwick's celebrates the launch of San Diego Cooks: Recipes from the region's most popular restaurants, bakeries and barsa new cookbook with 70 recipes highlighting iconic dishes and drinks from the region's best restaurants.

La Mesa Oktoberfest

Enjoy traditional Bavarian decorations, food and drinks, and the return of the Ferris wheel. Beer garden performances by German polka bands, indie rock jams and brass musicians. Race down the street through a mini obstacle course, see who can roll their beer keg from one end of the course to the other the fastest, and team up for a tug of war.

When: Friday, October 4th, 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, October 5, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, October 6, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m

Eric Darius and Marcus Anderson

Eric Darius and Marcus Anderson, Julian Vaughn and Lin Rountree play the Champagne Jazz Series at Thornton Winery on Saturday.

Saxophonist, singer, songwriter, producer and educator Eric Darius has hit the contemporary jazz charts with recordings for labels such as Blue Note, Higher Octave, Shanachie and Narada. Saxophonist Marcus Anderson is a two-time Grammy winner and Stellar Award nominee. The show will be opened by Julian Vaughn & Lin Rountree.
