MLB fans blast ESPN for brutal broadcast action in 9th inning of Mets-Brewers Game 2

When you watch a baseball game on TV, you probably want to see what happens in that baseball game. That sounds simple enough and should be a guarantee every time you start a game, but fans learned in a pivotal moment in the Mets-Brewers playoff series on Wednesday that, stunningly, it's not always a guarantee.

In case you missed it, the Mets went up by two runs in the ninth inning. Jose Iglesias led off the inning as New York fans sat on the edge of their seats, hoping their team would make a dramatic comeback.

At that point, ESPN decided to show an interview with Milwaukee's Garrett Mitchell in the game instead of sticking with the action on the field. They ran out the clock to see Iglesias fly to right field, but the carry missed the throw of the pitch. In the ninth inning of a playoff game. With so much at stake.

This was just so bad:

The fans were rightly angry:

The Brewers held on for a 5-3 win and forced Game 3. Hopefully ESPN learns from this mistake.
