18-year-old arrested after multiple break-ins and thefts in college stations

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – An 18-year-old is facing multiple criminal charges following a series of vehicle break-ins in the Barracks and Creek Meadows neighborhoods of College Station.

According to police, Treshawn Booker admitted to breaking into several vehicles during the incidents last week.

Police said their investigation was aided by surveillance video shared with KBTX. The videos reportedly showed Booker attempting to break into vehicles in the Barracks area in the early morning hours of Monday, September 23rd. Officers on scene were initially unable to arrest Booker as he managed to escape and hide.

Later that morning, a resident who had seen the videos on social media spotted Booker walking on Seargent Drive and notified police. Shortly thereafter, a vehicle from the same area was reported stolen, further intensifying the search for the suspect.

College Station police say an unnamed source recognized Booker from videos shared on Rusty Surette's Facebook page and identified him to law enforcement. A family member later confirmed that Booker was the person in the surveillance footage on Rusty's side.

On Thursday, September 26, Booker was arrested in Houston and charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon and evading arrest. According to police reports, the gun in his possession was confirmed to be the gun stolen from the vehicle in the Creek Meadows neighborhood.

After being transferred back to Brazos County, Booker admitted to breaking into at least 10 vehicles. He now faces multiple charges, including evading arrest, burglary of vehicles, theft of a firearm, unauthorized use of a vehicle and theft of property.
