Leaked: Manchester City's 2024/25 fourth kit was inspired by Oasis and described as 'one of the worst ever'

Details and images of Manchester City's brand new 2024/25 fourth kit – the first of its kind for the Premier League champions – have emerged in the media this week.

The fourth kit will be Manchester City's final release of the new season and may not be available for sale to the club's global fan base until mid-season or possibly even the new year.

The music-themed kit follows the release of a brand new home kit, which features a '0161' graffiti graphic in reference to the Greater Manchester region's area code, as well as an away kit inspired by the 1999 play-off final – this is already coming expected it to be very popular.

Puma also confirmed this week that Manchester City fans will be greeted with the official launch of the club's new third kit, with details few apart from striking similarities to the maroon release of the 2012/13 season.

But fans definitely shouldn't get too excited about the upcoming fourth kit, as sources with knowledge of the kit suggest that the design is hard to love.

According to Footy Headlines, a source has described the design of Manchester City's fourth kit for the 2024/25 season as one that “could go down as one of the worst ever for the club”, with the colors and look borrowed from the cover of Oasis ' debut album in 1994.

It is revealed that the Oasis-inspired jersey combines a “pale yellow base” with “navy” logos and teal applications, while the front of the jersey features a “radial gradient” that comes from the crest design.

Noel Gallagher's recently released font for the 2024/25 Manchester City cup kit will also be used for elements of the yet-to-be-released fourth kit, which will be used on-pitch from early 2023, unlike the club's popular Chinese New Year release.

As for when to expect an official launch of the new kit, Footy Headlines reports that the 2024/25 edition is expected to launch in late 2024 or early 2025, ahead of the club's participation in the Emirates FA Cup, which begins in the third round of the annual competition.

Some have come across images of what appears to be Manchester City's new fourth kit on social media, and images that also match Footy Headlines' description in their latest report on the issue.

Manchester City will return to competition in early August, taking on Manchester United in the FA Community Shield in the traditional start of the domestic football schedule.

Pep Guardiola and his players then begin their hunt for a fifth consecutive Premier League title by taking on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on the opening weekend of the 2024/25 top flight season.
