Naked statue of former President Trump seen in Phoenix

PHOENIX – A large statue that resembles former President Donald Trump is attracting some attention in downtown Phoenix.

12News learned Thursday morning that a 43-foot-tall statue with a large likeness of the Republican presidential candidate was being held up by cables and a crane on a property near 24th and Washington streets.

The Trump-like figure is similar to one seen in Las Vegas earlier this week, angering Nevada's Republican Party. KTNV was contacted by an artist responsible for creating the structure and claimed it was intended as a commentary on transparency in politics.

The naked statue of the Phoenix has already started to attract the attention of onlookers who were seen taking photos of the large figure.

This is not the first time that Trump's likeness has been used for a controversial depiction. A few years ago, the former president's face was plastered on a billboard with mushroom clouds and swastika-shaped dollar signs.
