Red Velvet's “Psycho” is their second and fastest music video to cross the 400 million mark

Red Velvet is a popular K-pop girl group whose hit song “Psycho” has achieved a new feat with over 400 million music video views. “Psycho” is Red Velvet’s second music video to achieve this feat.

On October 4, 2024, it was revealed that Red Velvet's hit song “Psycho's MV” reached over 400 million views on YouTube around 6 a.m. KST. “Psycho” is the girl group's second music video to achieve this feat and the fastest MV to reach 400 million views to date. The MV achieved the feat after more than four years since its release.

Red Velvet released Psycho as the lead single from their first compilation album, The ReVe Festival: Finale, on December 23, 2019 at 6:00 PM KST (2:30 PM IST). The album was the third and final part of their ReVe Festival trilogy.

Psycho is one of Red Velvet's biggest hits. Described as an R&B track with nuanced elements of pop, trap and future bass, it sings about a couple experiencing a variety of emotions in a complicated relationship. The song was released alongside a captivating gothic music video.

Music critics praised “Psycho” for its gentle and sensual music. Psycho reached number one on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart; It was her second song to top the charts. This connected the girl group with the legendary girl group 2NE1. Red Velvet entered the UK Singles Download Chart at number 99 and stayed there for a week.

Red Velvet is one of the most popular K-pop girl groups. SM Entertainment founded the group through SM Rookies. The group celebrated their debut on August 1, 2014 with the single Happiness. At the time of their debut, Red Velvet consisted of four members, namely Irene, Seulgi, Wendy and Joy. While Yeri joined the group next year in March 2015. Their music focuses primarily on pop, electronic and funk, but also dips into '90s R&B with elements of ballads and hip-hop. Their biggest hits include Bad Boy, Red Flavor, Cosmic and more.
