Country musician Garth Brooks is accused Rape and sexual assault in a lawsuit brought by his former hair and makeup artist. The plaintiff, who remains anonymous in the legal documents and is identified as Jane Roe, claims the incident occurred during a trip from Nashville to Los Angeles, where Brooks was scheduled to perform at the 2019 Grammy Awards. The lawsuit, filed Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges that although he normally travels with a team, Brooks and the plaintiff flew alone to the event on his private jet and that he only booked a hotel suite for their stay has.

According to the allegations, upon entering the suite, Brooks appeared naked in the bedroom doorway and attacked her. Representatives for Brooks have so far declined to comment on the matter.

The lawsuit alleges that Brooks acted as if nothing had happened and expected her to immediately take care of his hair and makeup. The woman further alleges that earlier that same year, when Brooks was at home, he appeared before her unclothed, grabbed her hands and placed them on his genitals. To counter the allegations, Brooks reportedly filed a separate lawsuit in federal court in Mississippi last month in which both he and the woman remained anonymous, according to

Thursday's lawsuit.

In court documents in the case, the plaintiff, identified as John Doe, claimed the allegations were “completely false” and claimed he first became aware of them in July when she threatened to publicly sue him if he didn't pay her millions of dollars.

He asked a judge to stop the woman from “intentionally inflicting emotional distress, defamation and a false invasion of privacy.” The lawsuit filed by Jane Roe alleges that in addition to the two aforementioned incidents, Brooks exposed himself to her on numerous other occasions, discussed sexual fantasies with her, and sent her explicit text messages. She states that she felt compelled to continue working for him due to financial difficulties of which he was aware and which he took advantage of. The unnamed plaintiff is also believed to have been employed by Brooks' wife, country singer Trisha Yearwood, since 1999.
