In an interview after the incident, Chan stressed that he had to reassure production staff that he was fine so that they would not require him to use a stunt double.

“It's not a big deal. I have to insure everyone else [that I’m fine]; otherwise they would want me to use a stunt double. If I just sat there while they used a stunt double and they filmed my close-ups after he was done, I would feel very guilty!” he explained.

“At 70, he should stop doing dangerous stunts and let these younger stuntmen do the work.
