Suspected Drug Dealers Arrested in Main Street Raids (VIDEO & GALLERY)

POUGHKEEPSIE – Three suspected drug dealers were arrested by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force in a series of raids Thursday morning along the 400 and 500 blocks of Main Street in Poughkeepsie. The raids took place around 9 a.m. following an investigation into drug sales on that stretch of Main Street.

This investigation was initiated after numerous community members reported this activity to the Drug Task Force. Complaints included the sale of narcotics and dangerous drugs by numerous individuals around the clock on Main Street and South Clinton Street.

Drug task force agents began purchasing cocaine and fentanyl from three different drug dealers identified as Ronald Davis, 47, Bernard Diggs, 27, and Leonardo De La Cruz, 25, all of whom were narcotics and dangerous drugs on the Main Street between South Cherry Street and Hamilton Street are known as the 400 and 500 blocks of Main Street, according to task force coordinator Detective Sergeant Adam Harris. This recent investigation resulted in a search warrant being issued for a residence at 407 Main Street, a vehicle, and Davis, Diggs and De La Cruz.

On Thursday, task force agents and members of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services Unit, with assistance from the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department and the New York State Police, executed the warrant that led to the arrest of Davis, Diggs and De La Cruz in the seizure of large Quantities of crack cocaine and fentanyl. The warrant for Diggs and his vehicle was executed in the area known as the “open-air drug market” on the sidewalk across from Kennedy Fried Chicken.

Two felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance with the intention of selling,

A felony count of criminal possession of a controlled substance1/2 ounce or more,

A felony count of criminal possession of a controlled substance1/8 ounce or more.

Davis was arraigned in Poughkeepsie City Court and remanded to DCJ without bail.

Leonardo De La Cruz

A felony: criminal sale of a controlled substance.

De La Cruz was arraigned in Poughkeepsie City Court and ordered released.

Bernard Diggs

A felony count of criminal possession of a controlled substance with the intention of selling,

A felony count of criminal possession of a controlled substance, 1/8 ounce or more.

Diggs was arraigned in Poughkeepsie City Court and ordered released.
