Suspects in a Southwest Side train burglary were arrested following a search in Chicago's Sanitary and Ship Canal, police said

CHICAGO (WLS) – Several suspects in a train break-in on the Southwest Side were arrested Thursday evening after a chase into the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal.

Police responded to a railroad police call for help in the 3700 block of South Pulaski Road around 10:48 p.m.

Four male suspects fled the scene, two of whom fled to Chicago Sanitary and Ship Cana, police said.

The CPD Marine Unit, K9 units and a helicopter assisted in the search for the suspects, three of whom were taken into custody.

No injuries were reported. Area One investigators are investigating and charges are pending, police said.
