IDF claims to have killed senior Hezbollah commander

Beirut, October 4 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Friday claimed to have killed another Hezbollah commander, Mohammad Rashid Sakafi.

The IDF announced this on

The IDF further claimed that Sakafi was a high-ranking Hezbollah terrorist who had been in charge of the communications unit since 2000.

“Sakafi has made significant efforts to develop communications capabilities between all Hezbollah units,” the IDF said.

Earlier on Friday, Israeli warplanes launched attacks on an underground bunker in Beirut's Dahyia district, where senior Hezbollah leaders had reportedly gathered.

Among those believed to be present was Hashem Safieddine, a cousin and potential successor of recently murdered Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

Thursday's strikes resulted in massive explosions that shook the entire densely populated area and shook buildings across the Lebanese capital.

Earlier on Thursday, Israeli forces carried out an airstrike in Tulkarm in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, killing at least 18 Palestinians, a significant toll compared to previous attacks during the current conflict.

The Israeli military has urged residents of more than 20 towns in southern Lebanon to evacuate immediately amid signs of an intensified ground invasion in Lebanon. In a related escalation, the Israeli military is sending a fifth division of soldiers to the border area.

Israeli airstrikes continued in Gaza, with local health authorities reporting nearly 100 deaths in the past 24 hours, the highest daily toll in three months.

Despite Hezbollah's retaliatory efforts, Israeli air defenses successfully intercepted at least 200 rockets fired from Lebanon on Thursday, with no immediate reports of injuries.

In light of these developments, Israeli leaders are considering military responses to Iran following a rocket attack on Israel involving nearly 200 rockets on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed retaliation against what he called the “Axis of Evil Iran.”
