Crash closes section of westbound I-94 northwest of the Twin Cities

ALBERTVILLE, Minn. – According to Minnesota transportation officials, a section of Interstate 94 northwest of the Twin Cities is closed following a crash Friday morning.

The accident, which officials believed was between two motorists, occurred on I-94 near County Road 19, west of Albertville.

According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, there are injuries and two medical helicopters are responding to the scene. MnDOT traffic cameras show at least one helicopter had arrived by 8:45 a.m

According to MnDOT, the stretch of highway between County Road 19 and County Road 18 will be closed for a “significant period of time.”

The transport company requests a reconstruction of the accident.
